Educated in the public schools in Kentucky. Attended University of Kentucky for 3 ½ years; education interrupted by World War II. No degree. Served in U. S. Army Air Forces (now United States Air Force) 1942-1945, as aircraft pilot and pilot instructor and supervisor. After World War II, worked as a Corporate Pilot for 20+ years. Subsequently, served in management capacities in aviation, corporate personnel, corporate planning, and government affairs. After retirement in 1985, did consulting as a lobbyist working with the Texas Legislature. Moved to Albuquerque in 2001. Have received training in AMA and other seminars in administration and management, financial planning, organizational development, and conflict resolution. He has led seminars and workshops and has done some reading in these and other subjects. Currently, member of Committee on Ministry, Santa Fe Presbytery. In the past, served on Austin (Texas) Samaritan Counseling Center Board of Trustees, on Austin Race Relations Advisory Committee, on Houston Metropolitan Ministries (Texas) Board, and other community service boards and agencies. In the late 1970s, served on the Board of Trustees of Knoxville College.
