Chair

Ms. Gutierrez is currently Vice President of Geolex, Inc. a geologic and environmental consulting firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She specializes in oil and gas permitting; negotiation with state agencies; carbon sequestration issues; preparation of materials for litigation support activities; organizational structure and governance consulting; and financial analysis, including forensic financial analysis. Prior to joining Geolex, she spent 28 at the University of New Mexico in various financial and administrative positions, including her final position at the University as Vice President for Business and Finance. In that capacity, she was responsible for all of the business and financial functions of the University, including Budget, Payroll, Materiel Management, Physical Plant, Controller, Risk Management, Human Resources, Facility Planning, Property and Real Estate, Auxiliary Services and Athletics. Prior to serving as Vice President for Business and Finance, she also served as Director of Budget for the University, Special Assistant to the Dean and Director of the Medical Center; Budget and Administrative Officer for the Medical Center, and Administrator of the Department of Internal Medicine. She holds both Bachelor’s and MBA Degrees from the University of New Mexico.
