English as a Second Language Teacher
For two years after the completion of her undergraduate degree in Sociolinguistics, Irene lived in Vienna, Austria, and taught English as a foreign language to native German and Polish speakers. After graduate school in communication disorders, she completed her clinical practicum as a voice-speech pathologist at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston and worked as a speech-language pathologist in an elementary school in Farmington. Now she is pleased to work as the English as a Second Language Teacher/Learning Support Coordinator at Menaul, to contribute to the excellent theater scene here in Albuquerque, and to enjoy all the natural wonders in and around the city. Irene moved to New Mexico from the east coast in September 2009 and is proud to call the Southwest her home.
