Current Faculty Position Openings (3):

1.  Middle School/Upper School Science Teacher

Menaul School is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join its Middle School/Upper School Science faculty for the 2013-2014 academic year. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in science and a dedication to cultivating the minds, bodies, and spirits of adolescents. Also required is the desire to teach a consistent and sequenced Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physical Science course using demonstrations and experiments extensively. Successful applicants must also be able to teach a second-year or advanced course in either Biology or Chemistry. A master's degree and teaching experience are distinctly preferred, as is a willingness to mentor and advise students and sponsor student activities, such as coaching varsity athletics. Additional expectations of the job include an eagerness to work with other faculty members in collaborative efforts, the willingness to learn and frequently use the school's digital software program and resources, and the pedagogical preparation to employ effective classroom management skills.

Features of the position include small class sizes (12 to 16), individualized instruction, broad teacher autonomy, and frequent dialogue with extremely supportive families. 2.  Head Girls' Volleyball Coach

Menaul School is searching for a Head Girls' Volleyball Coach for the 2013-2014 season.  Heach coaching experience prefered but not required.  Successful applicants will be able to start immediately designing a summer workout program.  Teaching positions in science or social studies are also available, but teaching at the school is not a requirement.  Interested applicants should send resume, cover letter, and three references to Athletic Director Josh Sears at 301 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107 or at jsears@menaulschool.com.

3.  Head Boys' Basketball Coach

Current Staff Position Openings (2):

1. Executive Assistant

REPORTS TO:                     President/Head of School
POSITION STATUS:        Full-time administrative employee; exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the Office of the President and the Board of Trustees, and may be called upon to assist other departments.  This position requires excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task on many levels.

WORK SCHEDULE:          Full-time work schedule, which includes occasional evening and weekend hours
                                                7:30 a.m.  – 4:30 p.m.,  Monday - Friday
                                                Abbreviated summer hours

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1.  Represent Menaul School and the Head’s office in a professional manner at all times.
2.  Assist in all preparation of materials required for Board of Trustee meetings.
3.  Take minutes at Board of Trustee meetings and transcribe in a timely manner.
4.  Follow up on action items from Board of Trustee meetings
5.  Maintain the Head’s and the Assistant’s calendar on Outlook.
6.  Prepare incoming and outgoing correspondence (hard copy and electronic).
7.  Prepare materials for meetings, as needed.
8.  Set up (order food, etc.) for Board of Trustee meetings or other special events organized by the Head of School Office.
9.  Maintain computer files and hard copy files in the Head’s office.
10.  Keep track of and schedule office appointments and meetings and send reminders as needed.
11.  Assist in maintaining personnel files.
12.  Assist the Head and the Board of Trustees in developing and maintaining Menaul School relationships and policies.
13.  Manage all office calls and visits in a courteous manner.
14.  Serve as a team coordinator for the Administrative Assistants.
15.  Host parent, staff, and Board functions when the Head of School is involved.
16.  Coordinate and organize the hiring of Mission Volunteers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • Five years administrative/executive assistant experience (may be substituted for degree)

2. Admission Assistant

REPORTS TO:                     Director of Admission & Director of International Boarding
POSITION STATUS:        Full-time administrative employee; exempt

WORK SCHEDULE:          Full-time work schedule, this schedule would be flexible and would vary based on scheduled recruitment  events occurring outside these hours.

The successful candidate for the position of Admission Assistant will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and relevant employment history in marketing, and customer service.  He/she will be friendly, kind, and enjoys working with people (inside and outside the organization), a self starter, highly organized, and capable of working independently.  He/she will be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, predominantly Excel, Word, and Outlook. 

• First point-of-contact for all prospective families and provide quality information regarding Menaul School and the application process for both Admission and Financial Aid with outstanding customer service, both in person and on the telephone. 
• Schedule meetings, tours, interviews, with prospective families for Director of Admission.  Maintain RSVP’s for Admissions events.  Follow up with prospective families.   
• Perform all data entry into the admission database, including entry of new student intakes, tracking of application documents, enrollment documents, etc.  Become trained in using Rediker software and serve as data liaison between the Admissions Office and Business Office.  Perform data entry in Rediker software as directed.
• Ensure that all admission files are complete.
• Learn basic information about school and answers to frequently asked questions to better serve prospective families making inquiries.  Within six months on the job, be able to lead a campus tour for a prospective family.
• Create, maintain, and update database of school contacts, including elementary schools and their Principals, Heads of Schools, and fifth grade teachers.    
• Generate all admission letters and communications as directed, stuff and mail bulk mailings.
• Maintain inventory of admission materials, applications, publications, and letterhead.  Notify Director of Admission of items requiring reorder.
• Complete organizational tasks for Admissions events on all campuses, including staffing registration table, room setup, making nametags, obtaining and setting up refreshments, and completing maintenance requests, etc. 
• Ensure that all financial aid files are complete and become trained in using School and Student Services by NAIS financial aid system. 
• Work effectively with parent volunteers and other volunteers for recruitment purposes such as tours and representatives for other recruitment events.  
• Design and add content for admissions monthly newsletter assist Director of Marketing with various marketing projects.   
• Help gather names, data, purpose for attrition and retention numbers. 
• Create reports from admission database as directed; include status reports of admission funnel progression, re-enrollment of returning students, and attrition.  Assist in the preparation of statistics as requested by the Director of Admission. 
• Other duties as assigned.
