Boarding Life
During the week the focus is on campus classes and activities. The weekends are activity-filled, and plans take advantage of Menaul Schools’ beautiful Albuquerque location. Everyone participates in four special community getaways each year, on other weekends, students who live nearby may choose to go home. Enriching activities are planned each weekend.
On weekends, we venture into the surrounding areas: University of New Mexico, the Sandia Mountains, the museums of Santa Fe or Albuquerque, outdoor activities in the desert or mountains, the ski slopes of Santa Fe and Taos.
New Mexico is brimming with cultural events such as Feast Days at local Native American Pueblos, Art Festivals, the International Balloon Fiesta, and concerts with world renowned performers. www.newmexico.org/video/
Menaul School is on a mainline of Albuquerque public transportation system so with permission students can access local malls and performance venues.
The Campus
Menaul School sits on a beautiful 30 acre, tree-covered campus just two miles from downtown Albuquerque, rated by Forbes Magazine as the best place to do business in America and the “most livable” and “fittest” city in America by other National magazines. Renowned for its cultural diversity, Albuquerque is blessed by a dry, moderate climate and embraced by the majestic Sandia Mountains to the East. The campus includes two gymnasiums, a new track, football and soccer fields, tennis courts and seventeen historical buildings. The campus is safe and a fun place to “hang out.”
The dormitories have large lounges with a television, game table and a place to relax from studies. The dining hall features a skilled chef and great service, not to mention, outstanding meals.
